Review of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G: A good replacement or merely a 5G update?
by Usama Ameer. Update on 12 feb 2022:
Intro.
With flagship-like features and low price tags, Xiaomi has long since established itself as one of the greatest producers of inexpensive smartphones. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is now available to once again demonstrate that assertion.
One of the three Note 11 Pro models from Redmi is the Note 11 Pro 5G. The Redmi Note 11 Pro and the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G are the other two.
Yes, it has drawbacks and is undoubtedly not suitable for everyone, but depending on what you're searching for, it can be the ideal solution for your requirements and your budget.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G can range in price, however in the US it costs between $330 and $400, while in Europe it costs between €330 and €400. Three RAM/storage combinations are available: 6/64GB, 6/128GB, and 8/128GB.
But let's stop waffling and look at the specific features that this inexpensive Xiaomi phone has to offer.
Quality of Design and Display.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is undoubtedly one of the more attractive low-cost phones available, much like its predecessor. In this price bracket, showy designs and cheap-feeling builds are typical, but not in this instance.
Although it is easy to mistake the glass for metal on the back panel, it is actually made of glass. It looks fairly matte and is quite effective at obscuring fingerprints. Three colors—Graphite Gray, Polar White, and Atlantic Blue—are available for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, and they're all quite smart and fashionable-looking.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G only has two buttons: a power button and a volume rocker on the right side. Both produce a very satisfying sound when clicked. They are simultaneously satisfyingly clicky and velvety in a peculiar way. I'm conscious that this description might come across as a little odd, but Xiaomi hit all the right notes for me in this instance.
Speaking of buttons, the fingerprint scanner for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is integrated within the power button. It does a good enough job, but I wouldn't exactly bank on it in a competition for the fastest fingerprint scanners.
It's important to note that it appears to be a little faster if you press the power button firmly as opposed to simply resting your finger on it.
The top of the device has a 3.5mm headphone jack for ports. Wait! Do not rush anything. It gets better still! There is a SIM card slot on the bottom, which also serves as... A microSD card slot, indeed! The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G deserves some extra credit for bringing both wired audio and expandable storage to the table. Oh, and there is also a USB-C port.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is IP53 rated, which means that it has some dust protection and can withstand rain or perspiration. The display's glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 5, but I wouldn't rely on it too heavily.
Install the plastic screen protector and solid-looking glass cover that come with the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G if you want to be extra cautious. You must install the screen protector yourself because it is not already there.
Speaking of what's inside the box, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G also includes a 67W fast charger, which enables it to accomplish some incredible charging speeds that I discuss later in this review's battery section.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G's display is among its best features. If you want to conserve a lot of battery life, you can lower the refresh rate to 60Hz from the maximum of 120Hz.
The 2400 x 1080 pixel, 6.67" AMOLED DotDisplay has excellent colour reproduction, contrast, and viewing angles. Considering that I tested the display in strong daylight, the outdoor visibility was adequate. I didn't have to strain my eyes to see what was on the screen.
Last but not least, the Redmi Note 11 Pro's display is equally as large as the device itself. In other words, there is little opportunity for disappointment due to the screen-to-body ratio. With the exception of the bottom one, most of the bezels remain thin on all sides.
